young leader

Millennial employees often get short shrift from leadership due to their so-called entitlement complex or poor work ethic. It's simple to motivate a Gen Y worker (or any worker, for that matter).

All you need to do is schedule regular one-on-one meetings in which you ask one simple question: What tools, resources, educational opportunities or support would you need to do your best work every day?

For some employees, the answer to that question might be financial: a performance-based bonus structure, or more walking-around money each month. For others, it might be educational: mentorship or continued learning opportunities. Still others might just want your trust and permission to telecommute. You won't know until you ask.
