This Gist infographic contrasts new vs. old workstyles as they prioritize productivity. Today's offices are increasingly focusing on efficiency as opposed to an overload of meetings and email; 49 percent of managers surveyed believed the workplace is suffering from information overload. Another fun statistic is that 70 percent of managers said that they noticed better productivity from employees who worked flexible hours. Not every office can allow people to work remotely or on flex hours, however. In these situations, managers should encourage employees to schedule blocks of time to power out work. These periods should be as distraction-free as possible -- allow employees to use headphones, temporarily shut their doors or relocate to a quieter area of the office to enable them to work without interruptions.
