Meeting-Free Days Will Keep You Focused

Meetings are unavoidable, but they do often get in the way of your productivity and overall flow of work. Psychology Today actually notes that 70% of workers feel that status meetings don't help them in getting work done. That's why team task management system Asana enforced no-meeting Wednesdays.

Managers spend a great deal of time in meetings, and when they aren't in meetings they are preparing for meetings. However, employees, the makers of the company, need time away from meetings to create -- which is the reason why they were hired in the first place.

"The gist is that makers suffer greatly from interrupts in their flow time. Managers are generally used to having a schedule-driven day, so it's easy for them to throw a disruption into somebody else's calendar. Makers also do this to each other," Asana co-founder Dustin Moskovitz posted on Quora.

Wednesdays are a great day to choose for a no-meetings day because it allows you to catch up on anything you might have missed earlier in the week. However, any day of the week will work, so long as your employees are given more time to create.
