Entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, by nature, overwork themselves. They work too much and don't spend enough time playing -- which will ultimately lead to burnout. The key is to work smarter, not longer. And, you can learn to do just with the help of the tips below.
Make a Plan
Nothing can be done right without a great plan. Sure, things don't always go as planned, but it helps to map things out before jumping into the fire. A solid plan will keep you from having to do a lot of things twice, will remind you you follow-up, and ensure no opportunity is wasted. Thinking things through before acting can save you a lot of time in the long run.
Delegate and Outsource
It's impossible to do it all yourself, and trying will lead you to that burnout we talked about before. There are a variety of things in your life your can outsource, from your meals to online personal assistant services. You can also outsource tasks that involve anything from writing to web designing. Find the people who work well with you and continue working with them on a regular basis. Having them around will ease up your schedule and leave room for more meaningful work.
Get a Life
If your entire life is surrounded around your work, you're not doing it right. Your identity shouldn't be your job, and if it is you'll reach that burnout state quicker than you ever thought possible. But, as an entrepreneur or solopreneur it's hard to make time for yourself. So, put it in your schedule. This will not only help you maintain a healthy lifestyle, it will also help you maintain the important relationships in your life.
