When an entire company is unable to improve efficiency, it might be time for CEOs to take a look at their own habits and pinpoint how they can change processes. Mark Beard of Projects at Work has identified what some leaders are doing wrong when it comes to business productivity.
Don't be afraid to ask for help. CEOs are human, just like any other worker. Don't be afraid to risk your reputation by asking for help. You simply do not know everything and asking someone for the answer will push things along much faster than you trying to figure it out on your own.
Embrace your failures. Failures can be used as an asset to company culture. As a leader, you have to set the tone and not hide missteps from everyone else -- this will only encourage the rest of your employees to do the same.
Stop blaming your team. According to Beard, 85% of company problems can be related back to management and on-going issues in processes. It's easier to blame someone below you, but this isn't good for morale. Place blame where it belongs and fix the processes that need fixing sooner rather than later.
