How many emails did you get today? What number of them were useful—and how many were a waste of your time? If you’re like most people, the answer to the first question is “a lot” and the answer to the last one is “a lot” too.
In fact, you spend about one-third of your day dealing with emails. Of the nearly 200 billion emails sent each day, about two-thirds of them aren’t even important.
The most important thing you can do is to get your inbox cleaned up—delete what’s old, archive what’s important, file what you are done with. And get in the habit of sending fewer emails—pick up the phone and make a call.
