Some are just natural morning people -- they spring out of bed and are able to begin their day without any temptation from their snooze button. Then there's the rest of us. Mornings don't always run smoothly, so why not start the night before? Here are three things to do at the end of your workday to make your mornings just a little bit easier.
1. Make a to-do list for the next day.
End each workday by making a list of the three things you want to accomplish the next day. That way, you start the day already knowing what your priorities are and won't feel as overwhelmed about the work you need to complete. If there's anything on your list that doesn't get completed, that should become your biggest priority the following day.
2. Don't take work home with you.
Once you've left work for the day, leave it all at the office. If you work from home, give yourself a time limit for completing your tasks and then learn to ignore incoming emails and phone calls until you resume work the next day. Sometimes, that might even mean turning off your devices for the evening. This will help you recharge and feel well-rested the following day.
3. Get active in your downtime.
Many jobs require us to be sedentary for large portions of the day; this isn't good for your mental or physical health. Take some time after work to get in some exercise, whether it's just a nice long walk or heading to the gym. It's best to do this immediately after work, before you begin feeling lazy.
