Stress is something most of us just can't shake, and we all deal with it in our own unique ways. While there are good types of stress, the bad kind can become debilitating. What starts as a nagging thought can turn you into an anxious mess who is no longer able to perform tasks well (not to mention all the health problems stress can bring). If stress is getting the better of you, keeping reading. There are a few ways to balance your stress to help you become more productive.

First and foremost, sometimes you just have to say 'no'. If you already have too much on your plate, let people know and stop allowing others to interrupt your day with their own requests. These interruptions take away your focus and simply lengthens the time it takes for you to complete your task.

Multitasking is generally something you should not do. Focusing on one thing at a time will get the tasks done quicker and more accurately the first time around. However, you can be selective about what you are multitasking. Stick to tasks that are repetitive and mechanical, like data entry or skimming newsletters -- the tasks that do not require any form of creative thinking.

Make use of a smartphone, tablet or other electronic device that helps to keep your day organized. Rather than carrying around your laptop or notebooks everywhere, you can use your device to jot down notes, brainstorm while walking outside or grabbing a coffee, and keeping your life organized with calendar and to-do list apps. This level or organization is bound to decrease a great deal of your stress.
